FUE Hair transplant

So it's  been while since I’ve posted but I’ve been busy travelling the world (post on that coming soon ;)) .Everyone has been asking about my the hair transplant I had last year so what a great comeback post and an easy way for me to answer everyone’s questions about it.

For the last few years I had started to lose my hair, partly due to stress and partly just lucky i guess (eye rolls ) . Everyone said they couldn't notice and i didn't need it but I NOTICED and believe me i did need it so i went started thinking about what i could do. I had looked into toupees but it just didn't feel like the right option for me .I swept my hair across as much as i could until i discovered FUE transplants.

I always felt like hair transplants were for old men and way too expensive so it was always something i had never planned on doing ...thats until i saw a guy own insta raving about it and it looked so good that my mind was instantly changed and it started to seem like a viable option for me especially because he was the same age as me etc.

Oh ok i will get to the actual point and facts. There are a few different methods to choose from when comes to transplants  but the one that I was draw to was the FUE .An FUE Hair Transplant is also known as a follicular unit extraction transplantand involves taking individual hairfollicles from a donor area, usually the back (or side) of the head. The individual follicles are then implanted back into the balding areas on the head.

It’s so clever how it’s done and I’m not even gonna begin to pretend I understand that science behind it , but basically the hair from the back of my head has been used at the front and somehow regrown at the back still anyway ? .like most young people ( am I a young person ? ) I had this done abroad in instanbul and the main reason for this was price ! In London I was looking at between 5-20 thousand where as instanbul is more between 1-3 thousand so it was a no brainer really .

The whole process was fairly quick and I only had to be in instanbul for 3 days . The healing process can be slow and not the most attractive but the results have made it all worth while :)

5 ways to keep your polish on point

We all know that keeping nail polish looking fresh on our nails can be quite a struggle .some people have given up the fight and moved to stick ons, gels or acrylics but if your still staying strong with a classic nail polish here is my top 5 ways to keep it fresh.

1. Check your polish , you need to have a nice light-medium consistency before you even start ...too thick isn't going to help you but neither is too runny so make sure you always check ( this only applies if you are using an old polish ). With a good polish you will only need to apply two Coats ...more than that will give you a nightmare when drying

2.use a base coat ,yes this protects your nails from staining but more importantly it will give you a nice even surface to add to . If you have ridged nails you can get a specific base coat to help correct it

3. Apply an even amount ,i reccomend only 3 strokes per nail but if you are doing more just make sure you don't make it too thick or it will never dry so please don't just slap it on

4.use a top coat , you really need to seal the deal by adding a topcoat ,it will give it a glossy finish and help it to last longer

5. Let it dry , simple I know but you really should be waiting at least 20 minutes before you attempt to move those fingers or toes . The longer you wait to less risk you'll take.If you really can't wait you can quick dry sprays or running your fingers under cold water but trust me giving it time is more effective

Yankee 'snowflake cookie '

So I'm back on my Yankee candle obsession this week and have purchased  3 different candles this week alone .Ive literally just finished the 'snow in love' so felt like I needed a new Christmas candle to enjoy.this candle is so pretty and smells like sweet baked treats . It has a subtle smell when burning but if you re enter the room after a while you can really detect the sweet tones of this candle. The snowflake cookie is a perfect Christmas gift for yourself or someone else :)

...I may have to forgot to post this at the time  so it will probably  have to be a Christmas gift for next year haha but even still this is a great candle and I needed to talk about it even if I am a month late

Forest secrets I rejuvenate Plus serum

Firstly I have to say a massive thank you to Cat who requested this product for me ...I love it when bloggers help each other :) .I was so excited when this little cheeky product landed in my hands,it comes from a  brand called forest secrets. This brand was started by(and still run by) Dr Barbara oliso who had been working in the industry as  a chemist and research manager for brands , this immediately gave the brand substance for me as I knew Barbara clearly understands the ingredients she is using .

The serum promises to deliver many things including :
Boost skin radiance
Reduce dark circles
Calm the skin (aloe Vera)
Improves sun damaged skin

Irejuvenate plus serum is part of an anti ageing duo and for best results the irejuvenate plus elixir is recommended . altho marketed as an anti ageing product the serum actually serves all skin types for many different reasons.

The serum comes with a detailed plan of how to use it depending on your skin type for example oily skin types are advised to mix 3 drops of serum with one drop of elixir for day use where as dry skin types are advised to use 3 of each for day use.

I love the feel of this product as it is light and not heavily scented and unlike most serums a regular moisturiser isn't needed in addition , just a bit of elixir .Thanks forest secrets for giving me the chance to try this great little beauty wonder .

Sugar crush body wash

Firstly let me apologise for taking so long to write a new blog post , I sort of took annual leave from blogging without even realising but I'm back now and will try and keep my posts more regular . Right let me tell you about the product that has forced me out of hiding ...The sugar crush body wash . This product will seem so much more appealing to you if you've ever tried the soap and glory sugar crush scrub , this is literally the little sister the scrub as they share similar ingredients.

This product has that strong lime smell that I absoloutely love and a creamy texture that foams up with water . The citrus vibes of this wash is obviously energising and awakening (good if your feeling tired) but at the same it makes you feel soft and comforted like I've just had a warm blanket thrown over you . There is no disadvantage to this wash for me however because it smells exactly like the scrub I kept trying to scrub with it and looking for the sugar grains but once I rembered it was the wash everything was fine  .Soap and glory is available from pretty much every boots store so go buy one :)

Molton brown shaving soap

I have never really been a fan of soap and I've never enjoyed shaving so I've actually shocked myself wanting to write this post .when I say I'm not a fan of soap I don't mean I don't like to wash I just usually prefer a gel formula as I've always found soap to be quite drying. The molton brown shaving soap is not the drying moisture sucking device I had imagined ...instead it makes my skin feel softer than it's ever felt. This shaving soap has actually made me enjoy shaving for the first time ever and has got me checking my stubble daily hoping it is shave day again.

This product is designed for male facial hair but I actually used this to shave my underarms the other day and it worked great on them as well . At first I thought you had to rub the whole soap on your face but then realised to use this soap you simple lather it in your hands then apply to your face .

Handirest

Beauty Brad is always looking for the  next little handy beauty trick so you can imagine my excitement when the handirest team got in touch.Handirest was born out of the need for something steady to rest your hand on while painting nails. There are many different techniques nail techs and DIY nail painters have used over the years in the quest to create a neat polish ,however as far as I'm aware the handirest is the only model of its kind.I have a habit of talking about products as if they are brand new because they are usually new to me at the time I post however the handirest was actually launched in 2013 so you may of already heard about it.

I've been painting nails for years so at first I found it strange trying to change my painting habits and include a new object to my manicure routine .My hesitance didn't last long as within seconds I was converted to a stable base from which I could happily paint my nails.

There is many things this product is great for and here are just a few :
Painting your own nails if you have shaky hands
Painting a clients nails who has shaky hands
Doing intricate nail art designs
Applying nail extensions

I love the fact that the handirest is great for both at home use and professional use and I can think of loads of people who will be desperate to order one.Handirest is it made from comfy foam which means it it comfortable to rest on,easy to clean and perfect for moving around.

There are loads of ways to purchase these little manicure assistants ,they are making there way into salons ,salon direct and their own website.I have just found out these guys will have a stand at Olympia beauty this year  (F124) in October so you can also check them out while your there.
